Details: A major wood products company invests in one of the largest natural forest in South America and is looking for high caliber to fill the following position:
Responsibilities:
- To lead and coordinate all divisions (from logging, timber processing to export, etc) within South America operation
- To ensure quality standards, meeting production deadline and minimize overheads
- To work closely with Sales General Manager (Hong Kong/China based) for fulfilling customer orders
- To hire staff, provide leadership and to assist them in functioning as a team
- To uphold corporate governance and a front line budget controller
- To report to the directors of company in Hong Kong on a daily basis
- To provide timely problem solving decisions and manage the operation according to the group’s business strategy and corporate directives
Requirements:
- 4 year minimum college graduate from forestry, engineering, manufacturing or management disciplines.
- At least 15 years working experience in multi-national company of which at least 5 years in general management
- Lumber management experience
- Mature, self motivated and able to work independently under great pressure
- Very strong technical and project management background in manufacturing industry
- Sound knowledge and hands on experience in ISO 9001, ERP system and operation management
- Excellent management and communication skill, problem solving, analytical and decision making
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Mobile and willing to station in South America for 3 years minimum
- Belgian background preferred
- South America sawmill and or plywood management required
