Job Purpose      
Responsible for managing mechanical maintenance craftsmen to safely maintain and enhance the plant assets for the least cost.
Working Relationships
This position reports directly to the Site Maintenance Manager. This person manages the assigned craftsmen.
Job Task              
·         Lead mechanical craftsmen for all mechanical systems for their plant.
·         Assist in managing monthly and yearly mechanical labor, tools, and spare parts budgets.
·         Work with the purchasing clerk on cost controls and spare parts management.
·         Work with the plant maintenance planners to assist them in proper work order control and supervision of mechanical craftsmen.
·         Responsible for mechanical preventive & predictive maintenance programs
·         Insure each job is safely and productively performed while providing quality work.
·         Understand critical equipment issues for the plants.
·         Optimize plant to reduce waste and clean up cost through Lean Maintenance principals and equipment enhancements.
·         Use corrective actions required and follow through with required work to reduce downtime.
·         Assure craftsmen are at work on time, take legitimate lunches and breaks, and do not work an excess of hours.
·         Responsible for parts and tools are organized, picked up, and safely maintained.
·         Review and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures.

·         Develop contingencies for problems that arise while understanding the consequences of the options.
·         On call for extended off-hour downtime, safety, product, and employee problems.
Organizational Skills
·         Responsible in assisting in troubleshooting and analyzing difficult machinery and process issues.
Technical Skills, Training & Experience
·         5 years in industrial maintenance management.
·         CMMS database usage with work orders and management of the same.
·         Computer skills, including: Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Project, typing at 20 WPM.
·         Wood products 24/7 equipment maintenance requirements and experiance
·         OSHA requirements.
·         Project management principals.
·         Reading and interpreting schematics, engineering, drawings, and sketches.
·         Understand World Class and Best in the Industry Maintenance practices.
·         Thorough understanding of the plants machine operations and maintenance requirements.
