Description:
The Regional Sales Representative in the Northeast United States is responsible for developing and maintaining sales relationships with current customers. This position is also responsible for the sale of the company’s products with the goal of maximizing customer service as well as profits for the company; products include various composite panel wood products. This position sells the company’s products through the use of technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence and assist the customer in their buying decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, or business or equivalent experience
- 4-6 years in a sales position or equivalent experience in operations
- Strong communicator with good people skills
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Must have intimate knowledge of composite panel wood products
- Must have excellent math skills including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages as well as to create and interpret graph and chart information
- Must have excellent customer relations skills including customer response, service improvement, and the ability and willingness to keep commitments
- Must have a basic understanding of board manufacturing technology and processes
- Must display original thinking and creativity through resourcefulness, suggestions, and problem solving
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to create graphic presentations for customers, shareholder, and senior management.
- 40% travel, mostly nationally
Responsibilities:
- Act to close deals and finalize contracts
- Assist in order reception and other customer service duties as needed
- Assist in planning and scheduling processes as needed
- Assist in the preparation of quotes, contracts, and RFP/RFI responses for potential customers
- Create and maintain sales reports
- Develop and deliver sales presentations in a professional and effective manner by maintaining up-to-date awareness of company activities and products, industry trends, and customer and consumer needs
- Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff, plant management and associates, and customers
- Follow up on sales leads and develop sales leads
- Maintain all quote documentation with accurate product pricing
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that affect targeted markets
- Meet established sales quotas and revenue goals
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or managing director
- Participate in sales forecasting and planning in an effective manner
- Provides day-to-day management of sales account activities within the assigned customer base.
- Research and develop lists of potential customers
- Research customer/consumer needs and develop strategies to effectively meet those needs
