Description:
The Reliability Engineer in Mississippi will assist in leading the overall manufacturing operations. Lead by engaging people and improving processes to drive sustainable performance. Assist in meeting the company’s production goals, while maintaining positive employee relations and operating within company policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements. The Reliability Engineer is a pivotal in ensuring reliable performance and continuous improvement within our sawmill operations, while also supporting the design and implementation of reliability systems for future growth. Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering or related fields.
- 3+ years of experience serving in a maintenance, reliability, or engineering role in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably sawmill environment.
- Certification in reliability (CRE, CMRP) is a plus.
- CMMS experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, drive initiatives, and implement reliability best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and effective team building skills.
- Experience in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoints, Teams, and Outlook.
- Prior experience working in lumber mills or wood products manufacturing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of reliability principles, practices, systems, and tools, such as predictive technologies, continuous improvements methodologies, data and trend development and analysis (FMEA, RCA, RCM, etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to drive equipment performance improvements.
- Collaborating with OEMs, suppliers, and vendors to ensure the reliability of equipment, components, and materials.
- Developing and implementing a predictive and preventive maintenance strategy.
- Developing, analyzing, and maintaining reliability models, metrics, and tools to evaluate and track mill equipment reliability.
- Foster a reliability-focused culture throughout the mill by promoting proactive maintenance and ownership of equipment conditions.
- Lead and support preventative/predictive maintenance programs (inspection, vibration, oil analysis, thermography, etc.) to ensure optimum equipment availability.
- Responsible for identifying and implementing reliability improvements to reduce maintenance cost and downtime.
- Responsible for supporting and guiding the development, integrity, and continuous improvement of reliability processes, systems, and tools to support overall mill and equipment reliability.
- Support and participate in all areas of safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Support development and proper use of CMMS software.
- Support training and knowledge transfer for maintenance and operations team members on reliability best practices.
- Supporting and leading failure investigations and root cause analysis efforts to identify corrective actions and prevent recurrence of reliability issues.
