Description:

The Thermal Wood Treatment Supervisor in Alabama will be responsible for overseeing the thermal treatment of southern yellow pine lumber. This leadership role manages plant operations, ensures consistent product quality, and supervises a team in a safety-first environment. The position requires a flexible schedule to support operations and maintain production efficiency.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required; technical certificate or higher level of education is preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in the wood products industry and / or thermal wood treatment.
  • Knowledge of thermal wood treatment systems, including their operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively supervise and train staff.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in using computers and relevant software for monitoring and data analysis.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with quality control and logistics teams to ensure timely fulfillment of orders
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure OSHA compliance across all plant and ancillary operations
  • Ensure all treated lumber meets quality, durability, and grading specifications
  • Lead and supervise plant operators and production staff
  • Maintain accurate records of treatment cycles, maintenance logs, and production data
  • Monitor and adjust process variables to ensure proper treatment cycles
  • Oversee all aspects of the thermal treatment process, including scheduling, operation, and maintenance
  • Recommend and implement efficiency improvements to reduce waste and downtime
  • Train team members on equipment use, safety, and process improvements
