Job Description:
The Mechanical Field Service Technician, you will be working in a demanding role as a direct representative of our company performing service, installation, upgrades, and precision alignment of Sawmill and Planer mill equipment for customers on-site in a professional environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5+ years of industrial millwright experience preferred.
- 3-5 years of sawmill experience
- Strong leadership, excelling in teamwork.
- Must have a valid Driver’s license.
Qualifications:
- Willing to learn and teach customers and personnel in a professional manner.
- Welding and fitting of sawmill equipment.
- Professional communications skills through email and verbally
- PLC controls knowledge and understanding operation of devices.
- Must be reliable and able to travel.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Millwright and/or Fabrication Skills – Education and Experience
- Machine Precision alignment knowledge
- Laser alignment abilities preferred.
- Knowledge of sawmill and planer mill operations and flow process
- Hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication knowledge
- Computer skills in word, excel and PowerPoint, as well as completing reports and spreadsheets.
- Complete a basic skill test
- Able to read blueprints
- Able to be a leader and designate tasks and projects in a professional manner.
- Ability to work professionally in a demanding environment.
- Ability to make decisions.
- Ability to cross international borders.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to work irregular hours on a rotating shift.
- Communicate professionally with customers, engineers, and supervisors to ensure all requirements are completed.
- Fill out reports, expenses, and time sheets in a timely manner.
- Installing equipment and start up as per blueprint requirements.
- Perform and oversee precision alignment of equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and millwright duties, repairs, and technical advice.
- Perform training to customers and trainees in a professional manner.
- Timely and professional response to customer, supervisor, and coworker calls and emails
- Travel and book travel arrangements
- Travel internationally if needed.
- Troubleshooting of sawmill equipment
