Description:

The Southern Region U.S.A. Field Service Engineer must have strong mechanical aptitude and mechanical troubleshooting skills.  The Field Service Engineer will perform parts sales, high quality installation, preventive and emergency maintenance services, all while meeting and exceeding customer expectations. You'll work with customers in the wood products industry to install equipment, resolve problems, and take actions to prevent future issues from arising.  This position requires extensive travel as well as occasionally working evenings, weekends, and holidays.  Clean driving record and a US Passport are required.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree, or higher, from a technical or military school or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience as a mechanical field service provider with excellent customer service skills. Wood Products Industry experience is beneficial.
  • Wood Products Industry experience is beneficial.
  • Willing to sign a non-compete (maybe negotiable depending on experience)
  • US Passport and a clean driver’s license.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and strong mechanical troubleshooting skills required.
  • Must be a legal US resident. Unfortunately, there is no visa sponsorship offered for this role.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Ability to analyze information, make judgments, build strong relationships, maintain equipment, communicate effectively (both written and verbal), write reports, maintain confidentiality, achieve results, focus on quality.
  • 50-70% travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Documents service and installation calls by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Establishes parts / service needs by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts to match customer needs.
  • Maintains rapport with customers by scheduled visits, identifying needs, quoting recommended parts, recommending system improvements.
  • Serves existing accounts by analyzing orders; customer equipment and parts needs, planning weekly schedule; investigating complaints; resolving problems. This is a FIELD SERVICE position requiring extensive travel and occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work.
  • Some overseas work and travel is likely.
