Description:

The Maintenance Superintendent located in Mississippi will play a crucial role on our Plant Management Team, tasked with developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive maintenance programs to ensure peak equipment reliability and efficiency. The ideal candidate should have extensive sawmill maintenance experience, exceptional leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to build and optimize our maintenance systems and preventative programs in the mill.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance supervision experience.  Wood products industry experience in lumber is highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – conflict management, coaching, supportive feedback, and problem solving. Ability to function as an effective team member.
  • Extensive experience with CMMS and the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Lean manufacturing/5S experience a plus.
  • Must be computer literate, including a strong background in MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge and aptitude.
  • Strong mechanical and technical knowledge. Demonstrated track record of success in a complex and fast paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • A willingness to support a 24/7 operating environment, which may include weekend and holiday support as conditions require.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team building and motivational skills along with an ability to collaborate and build good working relationships across multiple departments and leadership levels.
  • Provide hands-on technical expertise on the mill floor to increase and maintain plant operations.
  • Operate and lead within a culture of reliability using preventative and predictive-centered maintenance to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain the highest standards for safety performance, leading with a personal example and a well-communicated vision.
  • Foster a culture of open and respectful communication.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain maintenance team schedules and detailed maintenance planning schedules that drive continuous improvement and support all elements of plant mechanical/electrical functions.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competencies and knowledge.
