Description:

The Maintenance Superintendent in Georgia is a member of the Plant Management Team, leading efforts to ensure operational excellence and equipment reliability. The role encompasses overseeing the Maintenance Department, where your priorities will be workplace safety, drive project planning and maintenance initiatives, and implement preventative maintenance programs to uphold a commitment to excellence.

Requirements:

  • Two-year technical degree or bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or technical studies
  • 10 years of experience in the wood products industry with extensive experience with sawmill maintenance and supervisory experience.   
  • A deep understanding of optimization equipment, processes, and business acumen.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a talent for fostering cohesive, high-performing teams.
  • Extensive experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and preventative maintenance program development.
  • Ideally, experience in vibration analysis and predictive maintenance, with a focus on failure analysis and lubrication.
  • Proven expertise in safety management, leadership, and team development.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside senior management to strategize equipment and technological enhancements.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for supervisory personnel.
  • Provide direction, training, and support to maintenance personnel, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Facilitate seamless communication and coordination with Production departments to maximize equipment availability and efficiency.
  • Ensure the highest level of workplace safety, prioritizing the well-being of our team members above all else.
  • Ensure full compliance with environmental permits, government regulations, and corporate policies.
  • Develop, implement, and refine effective preventative maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and longevity.
  • Contribute to the development and management of annual budgets and cost control programs to drive sustainable growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve targets in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and employee engagement.
