Description:
The Controls Engineer in Arizona will answer to the Maintenance Superintendent and will provide technical expertise in machine automation and electrical systems. Driving continuous improvement in electrical systems and process controls to enhance mills operating efficiency.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of Industrial Electrician or Maintenance Technician experience with a strong background in PLCs
- Assemble and test experimental motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids and other electrical equipment and components.
- Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- PLC and HMI programming experience
- Proven track record of electrical equipment troubleshooting repair and installation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Troubleshoot and maintain three (3) phase electrical systems, plus PLC system daily.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and test experimental motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids and other electrical equipment and components.
- Assist in developing data acquisition and reporting.
- Complies with all safety policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Works closely with production departments and attends regularly schedule meetings scheduled with production management.
- Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Stays current with national code standard and other regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and maintain three (3) phase electrical systems, plus PLC system daily.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical equipment to help meet production goals.
- Upgrade and tune control systems to improve equipment performance.
