Description:
The Sawmill Maintenance Superintendent in Georgia is responsible for all aspects of plant maintenance (mechanical and electrical). Leads and manages the preventative maintenance program, development of predictive and precision maintenance programs, and the development of the craftsmen and their skill level. The primary purpose of this position is to continually improve maintenance systems and personnel to support a high degree of equipment availability and uptime. The Maintenance Manager reports to the General Manager and is a member of the Business's senior lead team.
Requirements:
- 4-Year degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance leadership experience in wood products.
- Detail oriented, accurate, solid mathematical skills, timely, succinct, follows through, meets deadlines.
- Electrical background and high proficiency with PLCs, PLC communications, Controls, and VFDs.
- Excellent people skills, high degree of integrity, leadership courage, change management, professional.
- Experienced with developing and administering Preventative and Predictive Maintenance programs.
- High proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Operational experience in a wood products field a plus.
- Self-motivated, flexible, good communication skills, able to multi-task, able to work autonomously.
Responsibilities:
- Able to develop craftsmen skill level - teaches proper maintenance techniques; secures outside help when needed to build skill, improve reliability, and grow the maintenance system.
- Electrical discipline - knowledgeable in PLCs (PLC5 and Control Logix), various PLC communication protocols/platforms (Ethernet/IP, DH, FactoryTalk, etc.), Controls and Automation (working understanding of and/or able to translate improvement observations, whether personal or from others, into actionable changes to improve operations - 'tuning'), instrumentation (temperature RTD/TC, pressure, and level transducers), HMI programming and troubleshooting, and VFDs (setup, configuration, tuning).
- Familiar with CMMS systems, their administration/utilization, and efficient use.
- Knowledgeable of Precision Maintenance concepts and tools - able to teach concepts and incorporate into maintenance program to improve Mill reliability.
- Relentlessly pursues improvement of the results.
